The Most Common Golf Swing Tips

Watch Your Alignment

To find out if you are a player that has swing flaws, you must always watch out for your alignment. In order to do this, what you have to do is have a target and do your normal set up. And from the time you feel you are ready, lay a club down at your heels or toes. Then, move back about 10 paces at the back the ball to see where you are truly aimed.

Hence, remember that if the club you placed at your heels or toes is parallel left of your real target, then you have appropriately aligned yourself. If the club on the ground points to the right of your target surely you are mis-aligned.

Practice Your Golf Swing

Practice swings is a way to feel the position or movement you need to make before having to do a golf swing. In fact, many golf champions of today have undergone so many long hours of practice before. Thus, they have spent countless hours just hitting balls and working on their swings.

And so, whether or not you are a beginner, it is important that you always practice your golf swing on your own or even with the help of other people or training manuals.

Consider Speed in Your Swing

The center post and the minute hand are connected to each another. If you actually evaluate your golf swing to the movement of a clock you will see your body as the center post on the clock and then your arms as the minute hand. Having a fast looking swing would be like the little center post of the clock turning slowly yet the minute hand is moving very fast. Thus, things don’t coincide and synchronize at all.

Always Turn Don’t Slide

An important thing you must do in the backswing is to create space and an angle of attack with the lower body, which will allow your torso to fully turn and load. During backswing, the hips shouldn’t have any agile movement, but instead should turn in a clockwise course while staying inside the width of your feet.

If the hips slide in the backswing, it will almost always cause the right knee to straighten and will place the majority of body weight in the front foot hence causing the torso to under rotate, placing you in a weak position from which to start the downswing.

Avoid Having Tension

Always make sure there is no tension in your arm and swing in a gliding motion. Your grip should be either interconnecting or overlapping and go for whichever you feel more comfortable. Hence your posture should also be easy for you but you should avoid slouching and keep your chin behind the ball at all times with your back slightly bent but straight.

Also, try to be relaxed and take everything else off in your mind before playing golf. Hence, distractions will lower your performance because you will not be able to concentrate completely.
